What a delight it was to create a custom art piece for Ron & Karen Kirkpatrick! They hadn't ever found the perfect piece to go over their fossil stone fireplace, so we created something from scratch. I started in their backyard in Norman when creating the Mixed-Media Painting of the family, among the trees they have planted, and where they play with the grandchildren. So many memories have happened there, and memories will continue to be made there as the grands grow. The individual portraits of each of the grandchildren included the stool passed down through the generations of Karen's family history. The legacy of their family is celebrated!
After the portraits were installed, Karen and I stood back in true astonishment at how they truly made their beautiful home a home! The portraits were the missing piece in the interior design, and now their home is so special. Take a look below at what the final installations look like.
Creating a Mixed-Media piece for a family is a process that begins with the end in mind. The interior design, the wall in which it will live, the colors, the season, the time of day and the clothing are all taken into consideration in the creative process. In the end all of the planning is worth it!
Enjoy your gorgeous portrait art pieces, Kirkpatrick Family, as they truly make your home a home and serve as a constant reminder of what and who are oh so important.
